Richard Hugo is a Level 5 Barbarian Champion, a former member of Carpe Diem and actual member of the organization Valhalla, founded by Seol Jihu.

A bald black man with a mountain-like build.
Personality[]
A friendly man, though somewhat of a muscle head.
Despite Seol's experience with him, he is a man with a well known reputation for his cruelty.
True his reputation as a Barbarian Warrior, Hugo does not mind displaying public affection and intimate behavior.
He also likes to drink and eat a lot. Together with Chung Chohong, he used to be a regular at the Eat, Drink, Enjoy pub in Haramark.
History[]
Richard Hugo was born in Detroit, Michigan. His parents divorced when he was at a young age and his mother abandoned Hugo and his little brother at that orphanage shortly after.
Hugo ended up growing up there, getting bad grades, falling into the wrong crowds, and ultimately by the time he was an adult, he would often get drunk and get into fights while roaming the streets. He even at times had thoughts of throwing himself permanently into the Detroit River, though that never went anywhere.
When he saved a female recruiter who was being chased by 3 armed men in an armed robbery, Hugo ended up getting forcibly convinced by her to take a red stamp and invitation letter. He decided to stamp himself out of curiosity, but until he was teleported, he had simply thought it was all made-up bullshit. When he passed the Tutorial with above average grades and reached the end, he sighted a slave contract with the recruiter from before.
After joining his organization, Underdog, or UDD, he fought on their behalf before ending up in an inter-organizational conflict with groups including Triads and Sicilia. In a final bout, he got caught in a clean-up fight with Cindi’s, Agnes, and Chohong, and Dylan.
When Hugo was about to die, Jang Maldong intervened and successfully argued for Hugo’s survival, wishing to save and raise him out of a sense of guilt that due to previous and then current conflicts he believed he played a role in. Ultimately, he left and joined the group that would later be Carpe Diem and got trained by Jang Maldong. (Side story 25-26)
Hugo later as a Level 4 Barbarian Warrior met Seol Jihu during Seol's first authentic Paradise experience. Alongside the Level 3 Investigative Priest Alex, an unnamed archer woman, and a coachman, they were traveling from Scheherazade to Haramark (Chapter 46).
Hugo's intimate behavior with the unnamed woman in public, caused a culture shock the newbie Seol Jihu. The team encountered an issue along the road against Moles, where Hugo showcased the strength of his class. The team would separate upon arriving in Haramark, where Hugo immediately decides to the visit the pub. Hugo would later appear again when Seol visits the Carpe Diem office.
Hugo participated in the expedition to Forest of Denial where they fought Lioners and encountered the Ghost Saintess. He was also dragged into the defense of then-unfinished Arden Fortress against invading Parasites.
He participated in the raid of Delpinion Dulcy which had become occupied by Parasites. He was captured and upon arrival of the rescue team was found hanging on a hooked chain and saved by Seol. Apparently his innate strength and resistance as a Barbarian Warrior helped why he was delayed to receive an infection.
He participated in the Haramark War against the three Parasite commanders and their armies.
He was at the Pagoda of Dreams expedition where the team obtained great loot. He used his share to later buy overpriced equipment at the Scheherazade auction. Part of his share was used for the founding of their new organization, Valhalla, and as assistance to help Paradisian women to move on from prostitution — a philanthropic act which uniquely increased the donors' contribution points.
He was also present in the attack on the auction house in Eva which sold members of the Federation.
