Ian Denzel was a Level 4 Alchemist in the employ of Haramark's Royal Family.
Appearance[]
"His height was about average, his physique on the lean side. His hair wasn't completely ash-white, but much closer to salt-and-pepper. Seeing all those wrinkles near his eyes, he must've been way past the forties and well into the fifties.

History[]
Along with Jang Maldong, his friend, Ian was one of the first to enter Paradise. He believed that there would be an Earthling that would save Paradise, the spring after the winter. Initially, Jang Maldong too believed that there would be someone like this but after seeing his pupils go corrupt from power, he had given up. He was later convinced to return under the influence of many, but primarily Ian, that Seol Jihu was the Earthling they had been waiting for.
Ian Denzel was a famous magician of Haramark's Royal Magic Corps. He participated in the expedition to Forest of Denial upon the order of Haramark's royal family. Right after which, he was called to aid in the defense of then-unfinished Arden Fort. He participated in the raid of Delpinion Duchy and the following rescue of the Earthlings captured by the Parasites during said failed raid. His participation in the war of Haramark resulted to his death in Paradise after attempting to fight off Undying Diligence and protect Seol Jihu.
During his stay in Paradise, he kept records of hundreds of notable Earthlings in his search for the Earthling that could save Paradise. Some of these were:

- Baek Haeju
- Seo Yuhui
- Sung Shihyun
- Marika Larisa (Marcel Ghionea's fiancée)

80% of these Earthlings were dead/retired. These were either captured by the parasites, killed by one of the seven armies, found dead, or retired from Paradise.
These records were very helpful to Seol Jihu. He suspected that the Parasite Queen might have been manipulating humanity in the shadows.
Ian stays in Hawaii and works on writing his novel, The Second Coming of Gluttony. The original protagonist of the novel was Ian himself but he decided to change it to Seol Jihu after reading more and more about him in his novel. He was excited to meet Seol Jihu in Hawaii.
His novel was of great help to many Earthlings that were hospitalized in Hawaii and Seol Jihu as well.
Eventually, Ian was revived after the final battle in Paradise.
