Black Seol Jihu is the version of Seol Jihu from the alternate, future timeline where he became a Red Mark Level 8 Spear Demon. he is known as Black Seol Jihu even though his name is also Seol Jihu because of his experience when he was first seen by Seol Jihu and Baek Haeju in the Path of Souls.
He originally perished in humanity's final stand in Paradise but requested that Gula send his emotions back to the past and eventually managed to with the aid of Teresa Hussey who helped grant his wish with the Royal Oath.
During Seol Jihu's Divine Stigmata trial in the Path of the Soul, the remnant of Black Seol Jihu that was within Future Vision made a contract with Gula and managed to briefly remanifest to help train his other self.
Appearance[]
Looks the same as Seol Jihu.
Personality[]
Due to the harsher situations he had been in compared to the normal Seol Jihu, he was more verbally aggressive.
Generally, he was much sadder since he blamed himself for not being able to protect Baek Haeju, Yoo Seonhwa. Afterwards, he silently trained himself becoming a demon in the battlefield.
History[]
Black Seol Jihu entered Paradise as a Red Mark and was used by Sinyoung as a slave and a replacement for Sung Shihyun. As this was such an impactful period of Black Seol Jihu's life, Seol Jihu was subconsciously objected Sinyoung's offer when he left the Neutral Zone.
He was seen talking to Baek Haeju and Seo Yuhui when they used to work together. Haeju, who was still unaccepting of Seol because of his gambling addiction, told him to leave in the next morning, which he did.
Later, Haeju died and Black Seol Jihu blamed himself for not being able to protect her. Like a machine, he practiced with a spear and became stronger. Seo Yuhui had taken an interest in him at this point and even fallen for him at this point. She and Black Seol Jihu travelled together.
During the Arden Fortress War, when Seol Jihu activated Future Vision, a couple of achievements of Black Seol Jihu were listed:
- He was a man not chosen by the Seven Gods. He was not chosen to become the Executor.
- He was a man who fought the Seven Armies of Parasites and survived nine times.
- He was the only Earthling who worked with the Federation and defeated Abhorrent Charity (Caritas).
In the final battle, Black Seol Jihu died and asked to bring his emotions back in time to the current Seol Jihu. Seo Yuhui did the same except since she had more contribution points, her emotions retained better in comparison to Seol Jihu.
Black Seol Jihu trained his other self in the Path of the Soul and taught him many abilities. Later he also helped train the other members of Valhalla.
Black Seol Jihu promised that he would help Seol Jihu fight the Parasite Queen in the final battle, which he did.
When Seol Jihu sleeps with Phi Sora, he is guilty and approaches Black Seol Jihu for advice. Black Seol Jihu stops Seol Jihu from going to the past and sleeping with Phi Sora as he had already tried it. Seol Jihu was destined to sleep with Phi Sora. To ease Seol Jihu's mind, he suggests going 15 years into the future as the relationships between Black Seol Jihu and his harem are still complicated but in 15 years, it would be more stable.
Powers & Abilities[]
He was stronger than the Level 8 Baek Haeju (unknown if this is still true by the end of the novel).
